Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah! I'm making this short, sweet, and a little elfie…just because. :)
First up:: Boomer. Boomer surprised my kinderkiddos last week and we all had three days of Elf magic. Boy Oh Boy did this spark up my kids. Great behavior until Friday when the rainy day schedule wound the little buggers up. Anywhichwho, I left a note for Boomer to take to Santa saying that we hope the understood about our crazy behavior and that we'll be back to normal come Monday. Finger crossed please. Here's a few pictures of Boomer.
Day 2…He left a little treat. |

Second Grade is Out of This World
Hi Hilary,
DeleteThank you for following. Power Hour is our fancy name for RTI. We are so lucky that each grade level has one hour a day that is dedicated to "Power Hour." (Fortunately our school was able to hire three certificated teachers for 3 hrs a day who have all taught at our school before but unfortunately due to budget cuts no longer are with us.) This is the time when we level our kids based on assessments and performance and give them in-depth intense learning. Some of my kiddos head to my partner teacher and I take all the Kinder ELD kiddos as well to fulfill our ELD requirements. Also, we keep our groups pretty fluid and flexible, changing up the groups when needed. Three times a year we meet to review our interim assessment results and review the data. We then reevaluate and decide where we need to head with our teaching. Our district uses our school as a model. We are really proud. I hope that helps and isn't too confusing. :)
I was sooo excited to see your blog being featured on Farley's December Currently!!! I love your elf pictures! Hope these last few weeks fly by for you and you enjoy the holidays with your kids!
